Hermanas Unidas de CSUN
Community Service
Community Service is one of our three pillars in Hermanas Unidas. Community Service allows HaU to be an active body in the community and instills values that promote character development.

In order to be considered an active member, you must complete 12 hours per semester - 24 hours for the whole academic year. Submit your hours and proof of service via our LinkTree found below and on our Instagram.

A beach clean-up in Santa Monica, The Aids Walk, and our annual toy drive at Shakeys are just some of our past in-person community service events. This past year we adapted our events for the virtual format by writing and sending letters to frontline workers, buying fruta and flores from street vendors, sending valentine grams to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.
Skid Row Clean-Up
Our Skid row clean-up is the perfect opportunity to help the city of Los Angeles while working with your fellow Hermanas and also creating hermandad. Who doesn’t appreciate giving back to the community?
AIDS Walk
The Aids Walk is one of the biggest events of fall semester. Not only are we walking for a good cause but we also get to meet up with other HaU chapters from SoCal and NorCal and cross that finish line together.
Christmas Toy Drive at Shakey's
We hold an annual toy drive at Shakeys. The toys donated at this event all go to an organization called Mend, an organization that helps families in need. This event is a great way to give back and also a great way to work with other hermanas.
Letters to Refugee Children
This past year we have continued our community service with virtual events. To brighten the days of refugee children we got together to write hopeful notes with the help of Letters of Love organization.
